Albany Woman Experiences Sciatica Relief from Spinal Decompression Treatment!

This story, like all of our success stories on our Kinkaid Family Chiropractic page, is of a real patient and her story is 100% true. If you suffer from lower back pain and have tried everything to help relieve your pain and did not have success, then this story is for you!
Laura is an energetic woman who has a passion for gardening and loves spending time outside with her dog. In February 2018, Laura began to have severe sharp, stabbing pain which was shooting down her right leg. All of her day-to-day tasks including sitting, standing, walking and getting dressed became a burden. Laura also began avoiding the stairs. Due to her severe pain, and her trouble performing everyday tasks, her son decided to help with her daily house chores, including walking the dog, laundry, etc.
Two weeks after her pain began, it became apparent to Laura that it was not going to go away on its own. Laura could not find any source of relief for this pain, so she scheduled an appointment at Kinkaid Family Chiropractic in Guilderland, NY. If Chiropractic didn’t work for her, she was considering surgery. Dr. Jessica Kinkaid recommended that Laura try spinal decompression. In Laura’s case the decompression was going to focus on her lower back to help relieve pressure on her sciatic nerve. Laura was apprehensive at first, but tried it out of desperation.
Her results were astonishing! Her pain levels went from being 9/10 on a daily basis down to a 2/10. She was finally able to take her dog for walks, and work in her garden again without experiencing additional pain. Towards the end of her treatment plan, her knee no longer felt unstable and Laura was able to start using the stairs again! Laura is so thankful that she found Kinkaid Family Chiropractic and wants to share with everyone how chiropractic care and spinal decompression has helped get rid of her pain and evade surgery!
One of the most common questions we hear from our patients is, why do we recommend decompression over the use of an inversion table? Inversion tables can be great in some cases, but more often than not, they are used incorrectly at home. Inversion tables do take pressure off of your discs and your nerves, but in an uncontrolled manner, which can do more harm than good. Decompression therapy is a computerized and controlled therapy that uses specific amounts of pressure that are dependent on the condition being treated.
